Getting ready takes the longest time.

Snow days are rather common here in Maine. I'm the type of person who likes to sit inside with a hot cup of coffee, a blanket, book or movie for the day. That cold shit just isn't for me. It never was. I might of went out once for sledding and that was about it.
Now that I have kids though, I LOVE the snow fall. I get excited to take them outside and build snowmen, sled and have snow fights. Of course this is a great idea until it's time to get ready! EVERY mother knows getting ready takes the longest time! With 4 kids needing to be bundled from head to toe, it takes about 40 minutes!
I bundle them & myself up and get them outside. It usually last about 25 minutes IF I'm lucky! I got them ready for 40 damn minutes to spend HALF of that outside. What a pain the ass feeling that is! Parents, you must feel me on this. The irritation that you spent so much time getting them ready, just to be in as quick as you went out. We ended up with about 8 inches of snowfall, I was actually really thankful that it was warm outside. They lasted almost a whole HOUR THIS TIME. This never happens! I was able to help them build a full snowman (with help of dad), & have a real snowball fight with them. Something we've never managed... Of course until they end up face planting trying to walk and white wash their face. They kind of dislike that stuff, as a mom I laugh as I'm brushing the snow away. We ended our snowy adventure with grilled cheese, bologna and spilled hot chocolate across the table. A typical day in the Thibodeau Household.
